On Monday, April 27, 2026, the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) declared a statewide Drought Response Level 1 for public water systems using surface water and/or groundwater. In addition to limiting general landscape watering to between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m., Drought Response Level 1 mandates that public water systems implement a public information campaign giving notice of drought conditions and sharing any related announcements.
Ways to conserve water during Level 1 Drought Response include but are not limited to:
- Regularly check for and repair leaks inside and outside of your home.
- Turning off the tap while shaving, brushing your teeth, washing your face, etc.
- Only water your landscape when necessary.
